Tony Nevin Osteopaths has 31 years' experience treating people using all modalities of osteopathic treatment. He believes in a holistic, integrated approach to healthcare and is always keen to work with others to attain what is best for each patient.

We treat conditions that affect all aspects of the body. Read on for some more information or get in touch via email for more information.

Human Treatment

Our Approach

Anything affecting normal function of the body may benefit from osteopathic treatment. We treat people from the cradle to the grave, and from all walks of life. No one is immune from back or peripheral joint problems. Please note that most conditions require a course of treatment involving several visits. You will receive advice to help you manage your particular needs during this process, and you will be encouraged to ask questions pertaining to your condition, and its' treatment.

OSTEOPATHY AIMS to provide an uninterrupted pathway for blood, lymph and nerve vessels throughout the entire body. The greatest user of energy in the body is the musculo-skeletal system at 75% in a normal healthy person. That only leaves 25% for all other functions. If the musculo-skeletal system is compromised it will draw energy from other areas - this can lead to illness, and organ dysfunction if allowed to continue over prolonged periods.

WHEN YOU BOOK AN APPOINTMENT at either of our practices we want you to feel totally at ease. In most cases, when someone goes anywhere for the first time, they feel a little apprehensive. When that same person is also in a degree of pain, and discomfort as well, they usually become tense. We are fully aware of this, and strive to make your visit as pleasant as possible.

Some signs of a Bio-mechanical problem that may benefit from osteopathy:

  • Neck pain

  • Back pain

  • Headaches

  • Changes in mood

  • Disturbed sleep patterns

  • Fatigue and undue tiredness

  • Pain or disturbed sensation in your arms, legs, or both

  • Eye strain

  • Pain during pregnancy

  • Period pain

  • Joint strains and sprains

  • Sporting injuries

  • Unsettled babies

WARNING: If you have a serious medical condition, and/or you are on prescription medication please check with your own doctor whether any form of osteopathic treatment is safe and practical for you. We are more than happy to discuss your case with your GP if there are any doubts.

If you would like to find out more about what we can do for you, get in touch on +44 (0)7931 759339 or email us at info@tonynevinosteopaths.co.uk

We treat conditions affecting all aspects of the body structure. Due to new ASA ruling we are no longer allowed to list exactly what we can help with. This is despite the osteopathic profession successfully treating patients for well over a 100 years. Please contact us either by phone, or e-mail to discuss your particular problems where Tony will be free to fully explain what conditions we can treat, and the likely prognosis subject to actually examining you.

Animals at the Clinic?

Don't worry - only human patients are treated at our Cheltenham clinic in Gloucestershire.

HUMANS

Laser Therapy

LASER THERAPY generates a chemical response in damaged tissues by a process called photobiomodulation. This process stimulates healing at a cellular level by enabling these damaged cells to more rapidly produce energy via accelerated ATP production. It is useful for helping to treat soft tissue and joint related conditions. Used in conjunction with osteopathic treatment we have found it to be beneficial for many conditions and situations.

High Definition Infrared

Thermal Imaging (HD IRTI)

THE USE of high definition infrared thermal imaging is an extremely safe, and useful way of assessing musculoskeletal problems, and their progress during osteopathic treatment programs. It is a non-invasive instrument that measures heat radiated off the body of a patient due to blood flow directly under the skin. This blood flow is controlled by part of the autonomic nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). Studies on humans have found that changes in blood flow under the skin result in altered temperature readings that correspond to nerve pathway patterns (dermatomes) throughout the body. By thermal imaging a patient it is possible to determine areas of musculoskeletal disturbance, as well as build up a database during a program of osteopathic treatment. For this to be effective, all IRTI scanning has to be carried out under strictly controlled conditions to ensure accurate readings are obtained.
